I installed the latest version from Lenovo but it gives me error

Fingerprint Software 5.9.2 for Windows 7 (32-bit)
Version 5.9.2.5859
Release Date: 2009/09/29
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-73583

but when I enter the password to enroll, it gives me error "The dependency service or group failed to start"
Details:
E72100021: The dependency service or group failed to start
E72100021 : An internal error occurred (bpwb:bp-wb-dpi-dp-wbebu(80070742c)).

No solution found with the message or errors as Windows 7 error messages will be updated in a while, I suppose.

So now I am downloading

UPEK biometric software for Windows 7 - Protector Suite 2009 (32bit version) - Limited
Release date: 8/19/2009
Build: 5.9.2.5846

2 things I noted here is
a) the software is 37.72 MB compared to Lenovo's 15 MB
b) The version Lenovo published and release date is the latest than the OEM.

I hope I fix this. But no idea which service it wants to start, guess it is vtapi. But the file assosciated, may be I will have to check on a working XP and then manually create the service for W7.
But let me try install the UPEK package first.

What are the odds? My name is Chris, I've got a T61 that I just upgraded to Win7, and I was looking for some information to hookup my fingerprint scanner. Thanks!
